What are the primary objectives of the PASOC Program?
   
  The PASOC Program seeks to strengthen civil society participation in the implementation of the Peace Accords, and in the democratic process. It seeks to generate debate and strengthen civil society capacity on local and national level in order to contribute to a pluralist state and the combat of racism and discrimination. The primary objective of PASOC is to create sustainable links and alliances between the state of Guatemala and civil society organizations that work for the elimination of racism and discrimination, access to justice for the indigenous population, and social audit and transparency
 
 
In which thematic areas is PASOC concentrating its efforts?
   
  The projects of PASOC are concentrated in 3 different areas: the elimination of racism and discrimination, access to justice for the indigenous population and social audit and transparency
 
 
In which geographical departments are the PASOC projects concentrated?
   
  There are currently PASOC projects in the departments of San Marcos, Huehuetenango, Solola, Alta Verapaz, Chiquimula and Guatemala
 
 
What is the timeframe for PASOC II?
   
  2007-2010
 
 
What is the difference between PASOC I and PASOC II?
   
  The thematic areas of PASOC I were: Access to Justice for the indigenous population, Transparency, and National reconciliation. PASOC II will continue to focus on the first two of these areas, and has as its new thematic area the Elimination of racism and discrimination. And, above all, there is a requirement that all PASOC II projects have established a coordinated working relation with a state institution
 
 
Who is financing PASOC?
   
  Norway (US$ 3,5 million) and Denmark (US$ 1,2 million) are the donors of PASOC II
 
 
How many projects are part of PASOC?
   
  For the moment PASOC have a total of 29 projects
 
 
Does PASOC canalize funds to state institutions?
   
  No, even though there is a requirement that each project is cooperating with a state institution, the funds go directly to the civil society organization
 
 
Is there any possibility that PASOC can support new projects that are not currently part of the program?
   
  PASOC doesn't count with immediate fund to sponsor projects, but is in the process of negotiating new funds to suport iniciatives in 2009.
 
 
What is the maximum amount that a project can receive?
   
  US$ 150.000
 
 
What are the procedures for applying for PASOC funds?
   
  There are two ways of applying for funds, depending on the type of project.

2. “Criterios y procedimientos fondo de respuesta inmediata FRI
3. “Guia de evaluacion de capacidades de Organizaciones de la Sociedad Civil
