What are the primary objectives of the PASOC Program? |

The PASOC Program seeks to strengthen civil society participation in the implementation of the Peace Accords, and in the democratic process. It seeks to generate debate and strengthen civil society capacity on local and national level in order to contribute to a pluralist state and the combat of racism and discrimination. The primary objective of PASOC is to create sustainable links and alliances between the state of Guatemala and civil society organizations that work for the elimination of racism and discrimination, access to justice for the indigenous population, and social audit and transparency |

And, above all, there is a requirement that all PASOC II projects have established a coordinated working relation with a state institution |

Does PASOC canalize funds to state institutions? |
| |

No, even though there is a requirement that each project is cooperating with a state institution, the funds go directly to the civil society organization |

Is there any possibility that PASOC can support new projects that are not currently part of the program? |

| |
PASOC doesn't count with immediate fund to sponsor projects, but is in the process of negotiating new funds to suport iniciatives in 2009. |

There are two ways of applying for funds, depending on the type of project.
